As the Summer temperatures rise, my thoughts turn to ways to cool off in this hot dusty city and what better way than a refreshing dip in a pool. Perhaps you already have one (why have I not been invited over?), are thinking of putting one in or are planning one for your next home purchase…so here’s a little inspiration to while away the time. North of Melrose, over in the Hancock Park area, you’ll find this re-imagined 1924 Spanish Bungalow. Not only does it have an amazing flow and a kitchen after my own heart, but to top it off you have this delicious pool PLUS a guest house. Perfect place to spend a sunny afternoon, after you’ve bicycled back from the local farmer’s market. 752 June St Pictures and Details

Before we leave the Hancock Park area you have to check out this beauty in Larchmont Village. “Framed by mature trees and lush landscaping” you’ve got those enviable Nanawall doors opening up to that fabulous pool. Check out the night shot and that firepit! 358 N Van Ness Pictures and Details

Los Feliz is one of my favorite corners of this city and not least because of the wonderful architecture you find there. This French Colonial estate is a great example of that. In addition to the main house, you have a guest house…all surrounded by gardens and enchanting brick pathways. I’d put some huge lounging sofas around that pool, in the shade plus an outdoor dining table. 2529 Commonwealth Pictures and Details

This one on Franklin Canyon really caught my eye “Tucked amongst the star-studded Hollywood Hills just a few feet away from two of the most beautiful parks of the city: Franklin Canyon and Tree People, stands this stunning private custom built Mid Century home.” The pool really hugs the lot and compliments the style of the house. I think you could get a few laps in with this pool. 3027 Franklin Canyon Drive Pictures and Details

Then of course there’s the iconic Ennis house, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and yours for a mere $23M. Having undergone an extensive renovation and being sold fully furnished, this home “occupies a majestic Los Feliz hilltop with staggering views from downtown Los Angeles to the Pacific Ocean.” I hope whoever is lucky/fortunate enough to call this place home next, really enjoys that stunning setting and simple but classic pool. 2607 Glendower Pictures and Details
